Well, the New Year is here! And Missionaries returning home on Monday and 16 new missionaries arrive on Tuesday!! So it is my getting ready and cooking like a crazy lady week (giggle). Zone conference tour was awesome, all the zone leaders and Sister training leaders were prepared and did a great job, Dad’s presentation was awesome, and I was there for reinforcements and treats!! So pretty successful conferences and there were eight of them. Sometimes by the last few, I start to think don’t they already know this? (giggle) But each time they are encouraged, revived, and ready to put their training into action. The missionaries favorite part of conferences is the interview with President. They are so anxious and always eager to talk with him. I can see why it has been changed to having them every transfer! Guess the Lord knew!
President’s P Day was on Monday. And thanks to Grandma Honey’s chili recipe, lunch was a hit! Then it was playing in the yard with basketball, volleyball, and then it started to rain, so we moved into the house and had an intense game of charades!! Your Dad even played… It was so much fun and I am sure all the neighbors could hear all the noise as we were yelling and cheering. Your Dad and the Assistants team were on fire and pretty sure their team won. Sometimes we just need to play. (smile)
We have had a lot of missionaries sick, and even this last transfer lost one of our Senior Couples early. who serve in the office Our Elder and Sister Mustard needed to return home to Utah so doctors could help her with a sore on her lip that they feared was cancer. Dad was able to get the recommendation into SLC and they were on there way home in 48 hours. She has seen the doctor and they removed the sore and it is cancer, she is still going to need more procedures but the doctors are able to help her and all looks good. So grateful we were able to get her home quickly. But losing office missionaries can be tough, but our two Elders who have served before in the office are back and they are awesome! The work just keeps moving along, and everyone just helps in any way they can. And they do it all with a smile! It was amazing to see how everything just fell into place and the transition was so smooth. Missionaries are just special!
So January is almost gone, but we have to say Happy Birthday to our little ” Griffin Man” who is four and I think at Disneyland!! And then our beautiful “Lexi” is turning Eleven in a few days. I can’t believe these kiddos are growing up so fast. Have the best Birthdays ever and I will definitely eat some french pastries to celebrate!! I think I will have beignets (giggle)! My favorite!
So it’s time to shred the Cafe Rio pork and get it ready for next week. I have got this down, you would be so proud! (giggle) . And then it’s the office planning meeting. So here we go, let the transfer begin!
We love you so much!! Hugs and kisses for everyone!!
